What income is used to calcluate child support?
The child support guidelines state that gross income is all income received by a person. For most people this includes their hourly rate times the number of hours they work. It is as simple as that. It does not include a deduction for 401k contributions, health insurance benefits payed, or taxes taken out. There are certain circumstances that have special considerations to discuss with an attorney including if you or your spouse are a business owner, or if you or your spouse receive any sort of in kind benefits. We will discuss some of these in other videos.
